Friday June 15th- Day 1

Well, after 550 days of planning it actually came to be.
We are on our way to Alaska!
Both Chuck and Barbara and Scott and Shawn were sent on our journey with a circle of  prayer.
Both couples were blessed and energized by this great departure. How could we not fail to have the trip of a lifetime. One thing I thought was very interesting that we both had seven people join us for the send off.
Today was our highest mileage day a little over 500 for Chuck and Barbara. We met at the Cajon Juction Chevron and got started a few minuted before 8 am.
We stopped foe a short time in Baker for a snack and pit stop. Fueled up in Las Vegas had a great Lunch in Alamo, NV at the Windmill Ridge Restaurant. Great food by the way!
It was pretty hot most of the day, 97 deg max, but cooled down as we approach Ely, NV. Barbara was a little wilted but we brought her back to heath in quick fashion, with some liquids.
Hanging out in front of our motor lodge room getting caught up with family stuff and anticipating tomorrows ride was awesome. Great to put on some shorts, a tee, and Sunuks after being hot all day.
In a few days when we are cold and wet we will cherish today.
We walked a half mile of so the "Almost World Famous" Nevada Hotel, which with 5 stories, was at some point in time was the tallest Hotel in Nevada.
Stay tuned for way more fun.....
