Day 3- June 17- Star Idaho to Lochsa Lodge

What a gorgeous day! We couldn’t ask for better scenery. Every type you could have imagined

. Most roads had a river running alongside. The Little Salmon, the Big Salmon, the Clearwater, and the Lochsa. No water shortage up here. It was hard for me to keep my eyes on the road. We had temps from 62 – 85 which is as near perfect as you can get.
Got to our much anticipated destination, Lochsa Lodge, at 4:00. Chuck and I had run into this place about 6 years ago when looking for some lunch and decided we had to come back and stay the night with Shawn and Barbara.
Hwy 12 between Kooskia and Missoula, motorcyclists dream
We met a few cyclists that were riding across the country on the Trans America cycling association. Makes us looks like pansies in comparison.
We woke up and had no electrical power, the cabins and the main lodge. Randy, one of the cyclists, made us coffee with his portable stove. What a lifesaver! Two cups of Starbucks Via instant coffee hit the spot and kind of made not getting breakfast tolerable.
I guess a tree fell on a power line during the night and it has been repaired but still not restored to the Lodge.
View of Lochsa Lodge from our deck.

Picture of our motorcycles...hey that's Shawn relaxing after days ride

We could really get used to this Father's Day thing

It was the perfect day, Barbara is smiling too..
