Barbara's Point of view:
Day 1--By the time we arrived in Ely, I was convinced I'd embarked on the vacation from hell. Top speeds and temperatures in the high 90's and winds that kept my helmeted head jerking like one of those bobble head dolls--I couldn't imagine spending another day on the back of that motorcycle. Two extra strength Tylenols and two sleep aids later.....

Chuck has to have his 4-5 cups of premium blend motel coffee |
Day 2--More heat. We're Alaska bound and in my limited storage allowance there wasn't room for a wardrobe for all seasons. I learned that hearty motorcyclists create their own air conditioning by pouring water on the clothing under their riding gear, then unzip the air vents on the gear and bingo! the winds generated by speed, cools you! But the pool of water in my seat, one would think I'd wet my pants.

I am pretty sure I packed your curling iron, Barbara |

Chuck, I still can't find my curling iron! |

Day 3--Rivers, rapids and awesome falls accompanied us up the winding highway 12. The route was familiar; I'd been there, done that in my comfortable motorhome. But today was an awakening to my senses, the smells of the rich green forest, the feel of the mist of the waters, laying my head back on the canvas bag mounted on the rear and taking in the glorious sky scape, oblivious to the speed. Thank you, Scott, for including Chuck and I in your dream vacation!

If we are going on 99 miles of curves I need the Bonine |

The very swift Lochsa River on Hwy 12 |

I am actually happy because Chuck didn't ride into the river on the 99 miles |

 |
My wrists sore but I don't really mind, I love to ride
